Will we see you at the Summer Conference in a few weeks? It’s taking place June 18-21 in Newport, RI, and those who want to make their voices heard in the industry are encouraged to register now. Mike Collins, the Summer Conference keynote speaker, will give us what we need to answer the question: What does the Trump administration mean in terms of both challenges and opportunities for our industry? We’ll also hear the latest in sustainability and green issues with presentations about U.S. aluminum trade in China, the WELL Building Standard and more.

Because the Newport Marriott is located about 27 miles from the TF Green Airport, you might consider pooling resources for a cab or taking a ride sharing service like Uber or Lyft. Learn more about the newly-redesigned AAMA website during one of two offered sessions. Once you get to the hotel Sunday, get ready to board one of two legendary America’s Cup yachts. Choose between a spectator yacht or a racing yacht – but either way, you’ll need to register for this event by May 28. Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen!

On Monday night during the Summer Conference, meet in the hotel lobby by 5 to enjoy a cocktail hour reception at Marble House, which will include an open bar and hors d’oeuvres. Marble House is a mansion built in the late 1800s and is now open to the public for tours. An optional tour of the house will follow the reception.

For Tuesday night, AAMA Meetings has planned a traditional-style New England meal at Kempenaar’s Clambake Club. At the club, AAMA will have free reign over their five acres, complete with games like horseshoes, volleyball and bocce. All registered for this special event will enjoy steamed clams, lobster, broiled chicken and more.

Every AAMA conference is different, but they’re always expertly planned and full of a variety of activities for everyone. Take care of business during the conference’s sessions and relax with the best in the industry after. See you in Rhode Island!
