WCCMC Finishes Progress in Reconciling Coatings Requirements Continues

During the AAMA Fall Conference in Savannah, Wood & Cellulosic Composite Material Council reviewed the work being done in comparing AAMA 653 and WDMA TM-12, in an effort to simplify and align the requirements for WCCMC finishes materials.

Finishes Committee Works Toward Consolidating AAMA/WDMA Standards, Discusses Certification

At the AAMA Fall Conference, the Wood and Cellulosic Composite Material Council discussed the current work of the WCCMC Finishes Committee, newsletter topics and an AAMA opportunity regarding ASTM. Work on these matters will continue in 2017 at the AAMA Annual Conference in Phoenix, AZ this February.

LEED Credit Pathways Widen for Forest Products

In April 2016, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Alternative Compliance Path (ACP) that greatly expands and encourages the recognition and use of legal, responsibly sourced, and certified forest products all along the green building supply chain, thereby contributing to LEED credits. MRpc102 Legal Wood is the new ACP for forest products to achieve points in the Materials and Resources credit.
