AAMA 81st Annual Conference in the Sun in Orlando
Thanks to everyone who attended the AAMA 2018 Annual Conference this month down in Orlando. February is never a bad month to visit Florida, and we didn’t see a raincloud all week. On Tuesday night of the conference, we held our Annual Banquet with a surprise guest: Three singing waiters, who entertained us during dinner with music and the gentle ribbing of some of our leadership – myself included!
The banquet is always one of my favorite events of the year, because it gives us a chance to recognize the accomplishments of some of our most devoted members. These are the members who are leading conference calls, taking on positions of leadership in committee and task group work and ultimately implementing change and improvement for all in our industry. Please take a few minutes to thank the following members:
- Outstanding Member Award – Doug Holmberg (Apogee/Wausau Window and Wall Systems)
- Architectural Products Group Distinguished Service Award – Donnie Hunter (Kawneer)
- Residential Products Group Distinguished Service Award – Jeff Franson (Quanex Building Products)
- Marketing Distinguished Service Award – Mark Fortun (Endura Products)
We also heard from some incredible speakers at the Annual Conference, including engaging keynote speaker Retired Army Colonel Chris “Elroy” Stricklin, who drew from his knowledge and experience as a U.S. Airforce Thunderbird and other parts of his widespread background. You can read about this presentation here, and be sure to check out what you missed from the conference in the Resources section of your AAMA dashboard on the AAMA website.
If you took photos at the conference, we’d love to see them. Add them on Instagram and Twitter and use the hashtag #AAMAconf so we can share them.
See you this June at the Squaw Creek Resort in Lake Tahoe.
