Even in an ever-changing political climate, we’re continuing to see positive growth throughout the fenestration industry, across all product segments and geographic markets. This is certainly evident in the new edition of the AAMA U.S. Industry Market Studies released last month, which offers both residential and non-residential data on new construction and remodeling by building category.

To help members track market trends, AAMA provides a free copy of its annual market study reports to all Category 1 and 2 members, delivering timely information on residential and non-residential market trends and product relationships for windows, doors, skylights, curtain walls and storefronts. The comprehensive reports include details for geographic regions and commercial market segments, as well as framing materials, glass usage and configuration types.

Market study reports are released in an alternating publication pattern each spring. Earlier this year (and in all even-numbered years), AAMA issued the three-part Study of the U.S. Market for Windows, Doors and Skylights, which includes the Industry Market Size Report, the Industry Channel Distribution Report and the Industry Statistical Review and Forecast. Next year (and in all odd-numbered years), only the Statistical Review and Forecast report will be produced as an interim update.

For decades, AAMA has contracted with Ducker Worldwide to produce these reports, which provide an extensive historical perspective on market trends in addition to the high-value forecast data. By gathering data from primary product producers as well as component suppliers, Ducker is uniquely positioned to analyze the market size using a broad range of data inputs, resulting in a well-respected final assessment. Other window and door reports without the comprehensive historical data or critical component supplier input cost around $5,000 so this benefit of AAMA membership is truly a measurable value.

To increase the value even further for members, AAMA will be hosting a complimentary webinar on July 17 for Category 1 and 2 members with Nick Limb, Board Member and Managing Pricipal of Ducker. Nick will provide facts about how the study is prepared and how prior forecasts compared with actual market results. Members will also be able to gain more insight into the study methodology and hear an update on some significant market changes that have occurred in 2018.

If you have questions you’d like to have addressed during the webinar, please send those to me, and I’ll be happy to pass them along. Of course, if questions arise during the presentation, you can send those in via the chat box.
