In any industry, problems can creep up unnoticed. In fenestration, I know our members talk often about things like the skilled labor shortage, the economy and other crucial factors – and how the risks related to them can be mitigated. If you too are entering 2019 looking for ways to avoid problems before they arise, a speaker at next month’s AAMA conference may be able to help. AAMA is proud to welcome keynote speaker and author Kevin McCarthy, who will present “Welcome to the BlindSpot Zone” during the upcoming AAMA 82nd Annual Conference in Palm Springs, CA.

Kevin will spend an hour working with AAMA members and other conference attendees to help them identify their own blind spots and learn how to overcome them both in the workplace and at home. In this interactive session, you can expect to discover what motivates people, how to reduce impact from previously unforeseen problems and how to communicate with less conflict. Through Kevin’s presentation, you will learn how to identify your own blind spots and decrease their potential fallout both at work and at home. As a result, you should leave feeling more able to make better, more ethical decisions, enjoy better communications and experience deeper relationships.

Kevin wrote a 2017 book called BlindSpots – Why Good People Make Bad Choices. He is also a professional member of the National Speakers Association and immediate past president of the Oregon chapter, where he recently won the “Member of the Year” award.

Kevin’s keynote address will start at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 26. If you haven’t already registered for the AAMA Annual Conference, you should soon – early bird registration ends January 28.
