For the last four AAMA conferences, I’ve offered social media workshops on a range of topics. It was great to see several of you who participated in those sessions. So far, members have learned how to make the most out of using LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram. During the Q&A section of a recent workshop, I got a great question: Which platform is BEST?

As I’ve written before, there’s no simple answer to this question. But it got me thinking about why we choose some platforms over others, and what each one does best. What’s most important, of course, is that you (or your company) talk to your audience where they feel most comfortable communicating, whether on Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram or another social media tool. These channels each have their strengths (and weaknesses), which can make getting your message out across them a challenge. Luckily, I’m hosting a webinar on November 6 covering this topic, which will show you how to best convey a unified message in a variety of ways across multiple platforms, ensuring coverage of your needs and those of your audience.

This webinar will give an overview of several apps and their features, as well as ways to effectively communicate a unified message across them. Those who participate will also learn more about how to:

  • Branch out across platforms, and why
  • Modify messages for different channels
  • Make the most of each tool’s best features
  • Modify images for various apps

I’ve been working at AAMA as the association’s Communications Coordinator for nearly five years now. A large part of my job is maintaining and growing AAMA’s social media presence, and I am always available to AAMA members who have questions about any social media platform.
