It’s hard to believe it’s December already, but look at the glass half-full – you’ve still got 30 days to plan and schedule some great social media content in 2017. Now’s the time to think about what you want to get done and how to make it happen, before things get too busy with the holidays at the end of the year.

For example, AAMA celebrates the holidays early! We’ll be gathering at AAMA HQ next week for our annual holiday party, which was, as Marketing Manager Angela Dickson pointed out, the perfect time to get a staff photo for our annual digital holiday card. That means by the first week of December, we can get the card designed and planned well before anyone leaves to go on vacation. We can also get some great candid shots of staff to share on our behind-the-scenes Instagram account.

This same logic applies to social media for your company. What can you plan now, for later? It’s a great time to reflect on 2017 and make a list of milestones. Share your successes with your followers either as a list linked to on your website, or count them down with a series of numbered, scheduled tweets or LinkedIn posts to space them out.

Take the time to thank those in your orbit who helped make your success possible this year. AAMA couldn’t do what it does without the dedication of you, its members. We’re also thankful for our partnerships with other industry organizations and World Vision. Who helped you in 2017? Consider thanking them in a blog post to wind down the year.

If you really want to take the idea of a 30-day challenge literally, try scheduling a month’s worth of social media content now, from today until the end of December. AAMA uses Hootsuite, but there are other tools available, as well, such as Buffer. Then you won’t have to worry about what to post when you’re out of the office celebrating with friends and family.

Happy holidays to you all!
